The GaryCon Association of Role Players
Called on by Luke Gygax in 2018 to run WARP’s unique continuation of Gary Gygax’s world–famous S3 Barrier Peaks module, the Harper began attending GaryCon as a Dungeon Master instead of just as a player. In March of 2018 WARP began to receive many inquiries from tournament players regarding the WARP club. With the cancelling of GaryCon 2020 live at the start of the COVID pandemic, The Caller and existing Guild Masters voted to allow any tournament player at Virtual GaryCon to petition the club for Membership. Scott Neil, who sat next to the Harper at Jim Ward’s Metamorphosis Alpha GaryCon tournament in 2017, agreed to take on the role of Guild Master of this newest band of misfit gamers.
Guild Master Scott Neil
Scott Neil has been a player of role playing games since the late 1970s, around the same time he discovered real-life adventure as a Boy Scout. Since then, Scott has made many friends around the gaming table and the campfire. After a brief hiatus to get educated in the ways of data and family management, he re-discovered gaming through friends attending GaryCon. Outside of the gaming table, Scott manages databases, remains active as a volunteer with Scouts BSA, and plays at many gaming tables (online and in person.) Scott loves adventure, real and make-believe. Someday he hopes to discover evidence that H.P. Lovecraft was writing less fiction and more auto-biographical work.
