NARP Guild
N(E)ARP Guild – The New England Association of Role Players
On New Year’s Eve, 1999, the Guild Masters of HARP and N(H)ARP and the club’s highest–level Necromancer discussed with the Harper their idea of teaming up to form Trio, the most powerful group of wizards on Mearth during the Sixth Age. With the creation of Trio a new epic campaign was started and the variant Guild of N(E)ARP was born. The New England Association of Role Players, N(E)ARP, is now the primary Guild of NARP replacing AARP, MARP, and N(H)ARP. Per the Callers’ decree, the VARP and HARP Guilds remain exclusively outside of NARP due to their unique elder status within the club.
N(Y)ARP Guild – The New York Association of Role Players
Spring break ‘08 included the founding of the New York Association of Role Players, N(Y)ARP. The Harper’s eldest took up the mantle and rolled his first characters to adventure in the spheres of Multei. He was quickly followed by his younger brother several years later on Thanksgiving Day. N(Y)ARP has Guild members all across New York State, including Long Island and western NY.
Guild Master Bob Bennett
One Friday when Bob Bennett was driving Andrew Scott home from work he foolishly asked; “Who are all those people always waiting at your door?” Two months later on leap year day 1992, Bob, his wife Penny, and friend Tom, all rolled up their first characters, joining the Ashland Association of Role Playing. Bob has since supported the Guilds of WARP by helping design and build the first club computer. Other efforts include crafting WARPs initial bbs presence. Taking Sir Andrew Scott’s early calligraphy work of Wizardly glyphs and translating it to a usable font. Bob was also the first CompuSage helping move the Harpers Tale to MS Publisher to enable a more newsletter look and feel. Bob attended TSRs first online D&D game on AOL, ensuring the Harper’s connectivity to the internet. Finally, Bob has continued to move the club forward through many Guild iterations; AARP, MARP, N(H)ARP, and lastly N(E)ARP. Master Bennett is also a vital member of Trio, roleplaying the most dangerous of all Wizards from Mearth; Malice.
