Summary:
Our compatriots have returned with tall tales and fists full of items! As I waited in the room for them to return, and attuned to the Bracers of Force that I acquired, our friends came stumbling in, telling about a small armory that they were able to escape with wondrous items.
Tagore is gifted and trained on a wrist light by JinZek, and manipulates a whoosh tube (Injector) with 3 ampule capacity.
The party also has a large 5 gallon ceramic container that holds what we think is an Acid of sorts. I humbly investigate this by dipping cloth (Disintegrated) and metal (destroyed and attempted to climb the metal!) We re-seal the container and give it to Kreesy the Gob to carry.
We have now decided to try and find Holding Cell 2C, as the group was instructed to do. However, we wish to find this with the ruse of a fake prisoner (my Humble self) to attempt to fool our way in. We explore two separate rooms with boxes and debris and find nothing of interest except for a single ampule of silver fluid that I place into the injector I now have. While continuing to explore, we hear the familiar voices of the bothersome “mushroom men” that we have encountered before. The debate about how to proceed is cut short when friend K’Lr hurls a red boom fruit down the dark corridor! The fire and fury is impressive as we hear screams that go on and on and then abruptly fall silent. Once again, debate is cut short as to how to proceed when K’Lr charges forward, with weapons drawn. This one’s choice is clear, and I will not allow my comrade to face uncertain danger alone, and I quickly sprint to catch up with the stealthy insect. I hear the familiar sounds of the feet of Sarek close behind me as we emerge into a large hallway and skid to a halt in front of five very large Panthers with tentacles. There is a brief moment of silence as us three, and the five beasts, stare at each other. The silence does not linger, as we find ourselves in an episode of “When Animals Attack”. Incomprehensibly, the lead Panther appears among us and attacks our HissMar, hitting him hard. I throw one of my black boom fruits as I watch it disappear in a ripple of time and space…. I then turn and strike the beast attacking my friend, Sarek. The hit is solid, but I feel that my fist punches through the beast as it shimmers and wavers in a disturbing way . . then seems to become substantial! K’Lr brandishes his blue bar and strikes the beast again with what seems to be a solid hit! Kreesy has poked his head around the corner and attempts his Gob fey ability to outline the feline, that blinks for just a moment . . . then dissipates… Great idea, and nice try, but these beasts seem to operate outside our comprehension of space…. Tosc arrives in time to incant Eldritch Blast at the beast among us, which propels it against the far wall, unconscious.
The remaining four beasts charge and engage.. Tosc matches the panthers and a sonic boom takes himself and Tagore to the farthest beast, Where I use the whoosh tube to dispense silver fluid into its flank. The beast collapses dead from whatever was injected into it. Tosc, Kreesy, and Sarek engage with the remaining beasts and through numbers and skill, dispatch the remaining Panthers. K’Lr manages to shove a boom fruit down the throat of one! Sarek kills the unconscious beast that started this attack as we hear the siren of an approaching metal knights. The knight immediately freezes JinZek and K’Lr in a glowing blue bubble. I use my new light to attack the metal knight, but a magic shield surrounds it and stops the damage. My masters once told me that there are moments that require a slow blade, and using my Sai, I attack from behind in a more deliberate fashion, and am able to penetrate the shield and hit the Orange Knight. With it’s magic shield evaporated, my friends are more than enough to knock over this abomination, but not before we suffer significant damage. More sirens are heard in the distance, and we fly to the nearest “brown” colored door, and hide in the dark room there as the metal knights look for us, and clean the area….
Attempting to heal my damage from the battle, I unwisely try to use the strange magic can of spray that I saw heal the creature in the medical bay, and spray it on my wounds to discover that I have caused agonizing pain to my humble self. My stalwart allies rush to my aid to stem the damage and we agree that it is now time to rest…..I retreat into my meditations to process what has happened, and how I can be of better service.
